Peekaboo!

Watch out world.

William and his family got me a Flip  video camera for my birthday.  If you've never heard of them, that's ok... neither had I until a month or so ago.  I've been wanting something to record those little moments in our boys' lives and yet, something that was small and compact and easy to use, that I could take anywhere/everywhere.  

I received it a few days prior to my actual birthday (3.3) and was able to play with it last night.  I am still learning how to edit the video, so please ignore some "fluff" stuff near the front and my voice, but here is my first video taken with my new Flip.  Dewey and Papa are just having some fun with the Trains on the Isle of Sodor (Thomas the Train and his friends, for those that are not familiar.)

I'm not known for my self-control when it comes to a great bargain, especially when it's craft related.  I tend to horde and collect and then, things pile up and become too much for me to handle.  My brother used to tease me about giving my entire wardrobe away, within weeks of purchasing a new item.  

I'm afraid my lack of will has struck again.

I have found a tutorial to make baby wraps (for photography purposes of course) out of old sweaters.  You have to find the right kind of sweater of course, but then, it's pretty easy-or so it appears as I've yet to finish one.  I figured it will be a good time to put my sewing machine and knitting needles to good use.

The ARC Thrift store was having a $.99 sweater sale, where all of the sweaters were $.99 a piece.  That's insane.  I just had to go check it out.  It all started with the yellow sweater, and then became this...

My poor husband...no wonder he's attracted to simplicity.  So, if you know someone with an itty-bitty baby, send them my way to be photographed in a one-of-a-kind, repurposed baby wrap.  YES!

After a little gentle nudge (thank you Martha) I have finally worked a little on my Etsy shop (link top of the right column) and so now...it will be much easier for people to get a hold of me.

Oh, what fun we had.  Their little girls are just about the same age as our boys, so it was fun to be around something so familiar.  Oh, and we could totally avoid the whole dating scene by just betrothing them now, what do you think?

Backyard fun!

I like to think of the entire state of Colorado as being my own, personal backyard.  Mainly because currently we have a backyard area we share with many others, but I digress...

Thankfully I have a family who loves to get out and enjoy what Colorado has to offer, so I don't get cabin fever too often.

We have blue skies like this all year round, it's fantastic!

Simply put...Colorful Colorado puts a smile on my face.  I'm definitely living in the right place for me.

Today is his big day!

My baby...my sweet man...my "Nater-tot"...my big son...bubba...my Nathaniel is going in for tear duct surgery this morning.  I'm a flood of emotions.  I know it's minor and I know it'll only take 15minutes, but it's my baby and he does have to have a mask to help put him under.  I hate that.  I'm ready for it all to be over and for him not have to deal with goopy eyes anymore.  Selfishly, I'm ready for William and I not to have to clean those goopy eyes too.  

Would you just say a little prayer for my Nathaniel today?  I will update as soon as he's out and recovering.

***UPDATE***

Great news!  He came through the surgery with flying colors.  There was definitely an obstruction so it was a good thing it was probed.  I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, God is good!

If you really want to experience a concert, see one at the Red Rocks Amplitheater.  Gorgeous location, incredible acoustics, and just the most amazing everything...ever!!

Felt food!

Oh my...I think I've found a new passion!  Felt food is soooo much fun to make, ACK!

I'm on a mission to make Andrew a ton of felt food for his birthday and this is just the tip of that iceburg.  The sushi was pretty easy to make, although a bit time consuming.  Felt food is much safter than some of the plastic used in toys.  I'm becoming much more aware and I'm not sure if that's a bad or good thing...

Blech....

Thanks for asking about how I'm doing.  I have sinusitis and am on antibiotics and a codine cough syrup.  I feel OK, it's just all breaking up now and leaving some very unpleasant tastes in my mouth and leaving me a bit groggy.  I hope to be good as new in a day or so.  

In the meantime, mom...you were asking about some books I wanted for my birthday (March 3rd in case you forgot) and I came up with a few.  Here they are, in no particular order.  Oh, and yes... I KNOW they are WAY advanced for me, but hey... gotta push myself, right?
